Reserve fire fighters fill a very important part in the operations of our Fire Department. Reserves are required to attend two training sessions per month, in addition to a minimum of a 12 hour “sleeper” shift. While on sleeper shifts, they train and respond on all 911 calls along with the career duty crew.
- Training starts at the basics, and slowly progresses to more advanced material. Many of our reserves complete their FF1 and FF2 certification.
- Several of our reserve fire fighters have secured full-time positions within our Department, or many others across the State.
- In return for exceptional training and experience, Lockwood Fire District requires motivation, dedication, reliability and availability when needed.
- Reserves are required to attend one training session per month, in addition to a minimum of a 24-hour sleeper.
